Sanganai/Hlanganani Welcome Cocktail

Tonight we hosted the Sanganai/Hlanganani 2022 Welcome Cocktail..!! This edition has over 100 international buyers & media. The overwhelming attendance results from the resumption of travel after the Covid-19 when physical meetings were deemed super-spreaders & meetings were virtual. In his welcome remarks, the Guest Speaker Minister of Ministry of Environment, Climate, Tourism and Hospitality, Hon. Nqobizitha Mangaliso Ndlovu commended the work put in by our local tourism operators during the harrowing 2-period of the global Covid-19 pandemic which kept the industry afloat. “This is they 5th consecutive year that Bulawayo hosted this prestigious annual tourism showcase. Consequently, this period has not only seen Bulawayo receive positive publicity but has also afforded us an opportunity to meet global tourism players like yourselves. This 15th edition will give 2 very important events for the promotion of Destination Zimbabwe – the Tourism Investment Forum and the Sports Tourism Symposium, critical to the business development of Zim tourism and allowing us better understanding of the industry” . He also acknowledged the work done by local media to promote destination Zimbabwe, MICE Tourism and Sport Tourism. Local media has been very supportive to these efforts and has stood by the country in the face of negative publicity.
