4th African Union Specialized Technical Committee (STC)

Zimbabwe is participating at the 4th African Union Specialized Technical Committee (STC) meeting on Trade, Tourism, Industry and Minerals (TTIM) being held from 13 to 17 May 2024 in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea under the theme “Enhancing Africa’s Trade Competitiveness through Tourism, Industrial and Mineral Resources Development”.

The Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry and the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority are part of the Zimbabwean delegation which is being led by the Chief Director Foreign Affairs and International Trade Ambassador R. Chikava.

As part of interventions Ambassador Chikava reiterated that Tourism is a key pillar of the African Continent’s economy hence there is need to enhance the smooth movement of people across the Continent through the gradual liberalization of visa regimes and promotion of seamless connectivity across the various regions to boost intra-regional travel and increase arrivals.
