Happy Birthday Her Excellency, Dr. Auxillia Mnangagwa

The Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority Board, Management and Staff and the Mosi-oa-Tunya Development Company (Pvt) Ltd Board, Management and Staff proudly join the Nation in celebrating the birthday of our Patron of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Her Excellency the First Lady of the Republic of Zimbabwe Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa.
A cornerstone of Zimbabwe’s Tourism transformation has been Gastronomy Tourism, a flagship initiative passionately championed by Her Excellency. Through her visionary leadership, Zimbabwe has emerged as a continental trailblazer in Culinary Tourism, earning global recognition from the United Nations Tourism where she has been honoured as the “Godmother of Gastronomy in Africa,” with her outstanding work also receiving international acclaim from UNESCO. Her impactful initiatives, empowering Communities, promoting Nutrition and creating Employment through Tourism, have positioned Zimbabwe as a global reference point, culminating in the successful hosting of the first ever UN Tourism Regional Forum on Gastronomy for Africa in Victoria Falls
Under Her Excellency’s stewardship, Zimbabwe continues to scale new heights on the global Tourism stage, including being named the World’s Number One Must-Visit Destination for 2025 by Forbes Magazine and receiving the “Destination of the Year – Natural Wonders” accolade at ITB Berlin in Germany.
Her guidance has also inspired excellence within the sector, exemplified by the outstanding achievement of the Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry Hon Barbara Rwodzi, who was honoured as the first woman Cabinet Minister to be named Overall Best Performing Cabinet Minister of 2025 under the leadership of His Excellency The President of the Republic of Zimbabwe Cde.
