Forestry Commission Zimbabwe is a parastatal under the Ministry of Environment, Climate, Tourism and Hospitality Industry with the mandate to provide for the development, conservation, protection and sustainable utilization of all forest resources for the socio-economic development of Zimbabwe. The result of successful conservation activities is the over 800 000 hectares biodiversity-rich indigenous forests located in Matabeleland North Provinces of Zimbabwe which are a great support for the tourism sector. Under the banner of Ngamo Safaris, the gazetted forests and botanical reserve in these regions offer great opportunities for photographic and hunting safari business while also boosting eco-tourism.
