Africa Tourism Leadership ForumĀ
Earlier today at the Africa Tourism Leadership Forum Deputy Min Hon. Barbara Rwodzi reiterated that “the AfCFTA is an opportunity for Zimbabwe to grow its tourism through cultural tourism, gastronomy tourism & leisure tourism together with other countries, building trade with other African countries”. Infrastructure is key for us as a landlocked country…road infrastructure is very key, at the moment our highway from Beitbridge to Chirundu that links us with Zambia & another route to Malawi & Botswana is under construction.
“I want to encourage regions to sit down & see how best we the countries for example in SADC can tap into growing & sustaining our tourism sector, having discussions together as a region. Our infrastructure should be the same, our services should be the same”. We want to avoid competition between countries because we are one, let’s train our people together so that the Africa Continental Free Trade Area can be successful. Zimbabwe is up for this in order for us to move together with others”.
