A Drive for Deeper Ghana – Zimbabwe Tourism Collaboration

In a strategic move set to elevate Africa’s Tourism Diplomacy and open new frontiers of Economic growth, His Excellency the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe Cde. Dr. E.D. Mnangagwa and his Ghanaian counterpart, His Excellency J. Dramani Mahama, today presided over the signing of ten Memoranda of Understanding following the inaugural session of the Zimbabwe–Ghana Joint Permanent Commission on Cooperation in Accra. Among the key outcomes was the Memorandum of Understanding in the field of Tourism, signed by the Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry Hon Barbara Rwodzi, signalling a significant milestone in strengthening Bilateral Relations through a sector that continues to drive Economic Transformation, Cultural Exchange and People-to-People Connections.

The MoU establishes a comprehensive framework for enhanced cooperation, aimed at promoting Tourism Exchanges and unlocking mutual benefits for both Nations. Key areas of collaboration include Joint Marketing and Promotion Programmes, Tourism Research and Knowledge Exchange, Product Development, Skills Training and the facilitation of Investment and Public-Private Partnerships. Through these coordinated efforts, Zimbabwe and Ghana are poised to increase Destination Visibility, boost Tourist Arrivals and advance Sustainable Tourism Development, positioning themselves as Competitive and Complementary Destinations while deepening Diplomatic and Economic Ties.
