Upon traversing the picturesque Honde Valley and the Eastern Highlands Tea plantations, you will arrive at the esteemed Aberfoyle Lodge, a hidden gem in Zimbabwe. Situated in a unique region of the country, Aberfoyle Lodge is encircled by rolling tea plantations, rivers, mountains, and untouched riparian forests, rendering it an exceptional retreat.
From the main lodge, guests can enjoy views of our iconic 9-hole golf course. Additionally, we offer a variety of activities, including self-guided walks, riverside picnics, and a zipline tour through the treetops over the river. The diverse landscapes of the Honde Valley and Aberfoyle areas provide more than just a vacation experience, particularly for bird enthusiasts.
Our distinguished bird guide, Morgan, is dedicated to assisting you in locating some of the rare bird species native to the area, such as the Lesser Seedcracker, Green-backed Woodpecker, Narina Trogon, Pallid Honeyguide, Marsh Tchagra, Palm-nut Vulture, Green Twinspot, and Half Collared Kingfisher.
Guests can relax and unwind on our beautiful boat cruise on the Wamba dam, with stunning views of Mt Inyangani, the highest mountain in Zimbabwe. Visit the impressive BumSlide Waterfall, only a short drive from the lodge, and explore hiking trails through extensive tea plantations and pristine riparian forests.
Aberfoyle Lodge offers two different accommodation options. The main lodge rooms are fully catered, including three delightful meals, teas, and coffees. There are fifteen rooms, each providing a splendid view of the forests or golf course. The rooms are well-appointed and named after some of the notable bird species in the area. Alternatively, there are two self-catered houses available, located a few kilometres from the lodge. Each house features three bedrooms and two bathrooms, making them ideal for a family getaway. Guests can enjoy the peace and tranquillity of their own space while having access to the main lodge activities throughout their stay.
