Women in Tourism Regional Congress

The Women in Tourism Regional Congress is currently underway in Freetown, Sierra Leone, from 29-31 October 2024. This key event held in collaboration with UN Tourism, focuses on empowering women in the tourism sector through the pillars of education, innovation, and finance access.

Hon. Barbara Rwodzi, Zimbabwe’s Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, applauded President Mnangagwa’s leadership in advancing women’s empowerment through the National Development Strategy and Vision 2030. Additionally, she commended the First Lady of Zimbabwe and Patron of Tourism, Dr. Auxillia Mnangagwa, for her impactful Gastronomy Tourism initiatives. These efforts are making a tangible difference by transforming women’s livelihoods at the grassroots level, showcasing Zimbabwe’s commitment to elevating women’s roles and opportunities within the tourism industry.
