Zimbabwe Investment Summit

Tourism is a vital part of Zimbabwe’s economy, and it is essential for the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry to showcase the potential and opportunities that the sector has to offer to potential investors.The Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry Hon Barbara Rwodzi attended the Zimbabwe Investment Summit, held in Johannesburg, South Africa today. The Summit sought to strengthen business relationships between Zimbabwe and South Africa through the Zimbabwe-South Africa Business Chamber.
Minister Rwodzi articulated on the new direction the Zimbabwe Tourism Sector is taking by categorizing Tourism into Clusters which will bring more focus on each cluster as a better way to reposition tourism in Zimbabwe. She highlighted the Investment Opportunities that the Sector is offering. She also empathized on promotion of Domestic Tourism, as the Ministry has adopted the Heritage Based Tourism strategy, it is important for Zimbabweans to enjoy their endowments before anyone else.
The Summit provided a unique opportunity for a refreshed conversation to promote Brand Zimbabwe, which is a key prerequisite to the attainment of Vision 2030.
