Domestic Tourism Transforms Special Occasions into Immersive Travel Experiences
The growing momentum of Domestic Tourism continues to redefine how families celebrate special occasions, turning them into immersive travel experiences that celebrate Culture, strengthen bonds and promote Zimbabwe’s diverse Tourism destinations, as demonstrated during the Father’s Day commemorations held at Baradzanwa Cultural Village in Mazowe this Sunday. The scenic Cultural Tourism site came alive as fathers, accompanied by their families and friends, gathered for a unique blend of Heritage, Entertainment and Reflection, in an event led by the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry. Speaking at the gathering, the Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Hon Barbara Rwodzi, said the commemorations were meant to honour fathers, promote Domestic Tourism, encourage wellness conversations on mental health among men, and inspire Zimbabweans to discover and appreciate local destinations as part of building a vibrant Tourism economy. Set against the rich cultural backdrop of Baradzanwa, the celebrations showcased Zimbabwe’s heritage through music, dance and shared family experiences, reinforcing the importance of preserving traditions that form the foundation of Cultural Tourism. Deputy Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Hon Tongai Mnangagwa, highlighted the importance of strong family values and safeguarding cultural identity, noting that fathers remain central to preserving customs that attract Tourists to Zimbabwe’s unique Tourism offerings. The celebrations reached a vibrant climax with an energetic performance by renowned artist Jah Prayzah, filling the venue with music, joy and unity. Beyond fatherhood, the event reflected how Tourism experiences rooted in Culture and Community are driving Sustainable development, empowering local Enterprises and positioning Zimbabwe as a destination where families can travel, connect, experience and create lasting memories.
