Kambako Cultural Home

Kambako Cultural Home

Bringing the Shangaan Culture to life. The Kambako cultural home was founded by the Shangaan community members with assistance from the Malilangwe Trust in Chiredzi. The Home showcases the culture of old generations’ techniques of bushcraft which made them survive and prosper. Shangaan people were hunter-gatherers and their traditional lifestyle was recreated through demonstrations of practical skills. You can see in action and can try out for yourself by visiting the cultural home. Activities include making fire from friction, identifying tubers, bow and arrow making, basketry, smelting and forging iron, food production and cooking. You will also have a traditional meal which is prepared in your presence when you visit. Entrance fees excluding meals are $5 per adult and $1 for Chiredzi residents. Meals are $10 per adult and $5 per Child for those who want to try out the dishes.
