Zimbabwe showcased its tourism sector as a cornerstone of economic growth during its second roadshow at Cresta Grande Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa today. The Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Hon. Rooted in heritage, Zimbabwe’s tourism celebrates its rich culture, landscapes, and wildlife, setting it apart as a competitive destination. The Minister also acknowledged the Patron of Tourism, Her Excellency The First Lady of the Republic of Zimbabwe Dr. Auxillia Mnangagwa for championing gastronomy tourism, which commercializes local cuisine and strengthens the sector’s value chain.
Focusing on investment opportunities, the Minister highlighted the potential of MICE tourism, noting the urgent need for large-scale conferencing facilities, particularly in Victoria Falls. She also promoted the Masuwe Special Economic Zone as a future tourism hub anchored on sports tourism and medical facilities. Encouraging the diaspora to invest in Zimbabwe, she advocated for Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) and highlighted opportunities in medical tourism, ICT, and AI solutions.
