ZTA Annual General Meeting 2026

A significant milestone in strengthening Governance, Accountability and Stakeholder Engagement within Zimbabwe’s Tourism sector was achieved on the 17th of June as the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) successfully convened its Inaugural Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Harare. The landmark gathering reaffirmed ZTA’s commitment to Transparency, sound Corporate Governance and Institutional Excellence. Officiating on behalf of the Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry Hon Barbara Rwodzi, Permanent Secretary Dr. Takaruza Munyanyiwa emphasized that ZTA’s operations are guided by key National frameworks, including the National Tourism Policy, Vision 2030 and the National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2). He described the AGM as a defining moment in ZTA’s journey towards Institutional renewal, Performance excellence and responsible leadership, anchored on Stakeholder confidence and Accountability. Underscoring Tourism’s strategic role in National Development Dr. Munyanyiwa noted that the sector remains a key driver of economic growth and inclusive prosperity under Zimbabwe’s Heritage-Based Development Agenda. He called on the ZTA Board and Management to uphold the highest standards of Professionalism, Integrity and prudent stewardship of public resources while enhancing the country’s competitiveness on the Global Tourism landscape. He also commended the Board Chairman Mr Farai Chimba and Chief Executive Officer for ZTA Dr. George Manyaya for their dedication to strengthening governance systems and rebuilding stakeholder confidence. He also acknowledged the Tourism Business Council of Zimbabwe for its continued support, highlighting the importance of collaboration through the relaunched Tourism Joint Marketing Committee to translate International Destination recognition into increased Tourist Arrivals, higher Tourism receipts, expanded employment opportunities and greater benefits for local communities, ultimately fostering a stronger and more resilient Tourism sector. #ExperienceZimbabwe #NhakaYedu #IlifaLethu #OurHeritage #ThisIsUs #ZimBho
