Miss Uhuru Beauty Pageant
As part of preparations for the country’s 44th Independence celebrations the Miss Uhuru Beauty Pageant saw the city of Mutare explode into life last night. The Manicaland Province delivered the inaugural landmark event through its Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Advocate Misheck Mugadza.
The event celebrates Zimbabwean Independence and it is a way of promoting Zimbabwean Culture and Heritage through showcasing talent and creativity. It also unifies the young people of the nation and educates them about our history and how we attained our Independence and where the country is headed.
To back up the fiesta was The Young Women 4 ED Manicaland Chapter National Fundraising Dinner. The merger promoted the National fabric as contestants were clad in diverse and elaborate designs on the runway.
The Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry Hon Barbara Rwodzi who officiated at the event reiterated on the need for every Zimbabwean to embrace the National fabric and wear it anywhere in the walks of our lives, in offices, public events and social gatherings and to wear it with pride as it defines who we are and give us dignity as a society.
