National Cook out Competitions

The National Cookout Competition is the brainchild of the First Lady of the Republic of Zimbabwe Dr. Auxillia Mnangagwa and is a platform to showcase cultural diversity, celebrate diverse foods & a means to address food security issues in Africa. The University of Zimbabwe is hosting this year’s first National Cookout Competition in Harare Province. There is an array of different local cuisines being showcased over two days. “Gastronomy is about much more than food. It reflects the culture, heritage, traditions and sense of community of different peoples. It is a way of promoting understanding among different cultures, and of bringing people and traditions closer together” -UNWTO.Entertainment galore at the 2024 Amai’s Cookout Competition for Harare Metropolitan Province with Japanese International Youth Fellowship impressing the audience by singing Ndoda Mwari song & the UZ traditional dancers got a standing ovation for their energetic performance
