Zimbabwe held a tourism roadshow in London
On the sidelines of the World Travel Market 2024, Zimbabwe held a tourism roadshow in London, led by the Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Hon. Barbara Rwodzi. The event provided a valuable opportunity for travel and tourism professionals to connect and spotlight Destination Zimbabwe, with a focus on its marketing and promotion. Hon. Rwodzi highlighted Zimbabwe’s unique natural beauty, cultural heritage, and the warmth and hospitality of its people as the foundation of its tourism appeal. She also shared that Zimbabwe is on a growth trajectory, with international tourist arrivals increasing by 11% from 1,087,445 in 2023 to 1,202,405 in the first nine months of 2024, reflecting the country’s rising popularity.
The roadshow showcased Zimbabwe’s vibrant culture, including its cuisine, which is gaining international recognition for its distinctive flavors, championed by the First Lady and Patron of Tourism, Dr. Auxillia Mnangagwa. Attendees enjoyed a meal of authentic Zimbabwean dishes, experiencing the country’s culinary heritage firsthand. Adding to the cultural experience, Zimbabwean singer Diana Samkange performed afrocentric music, celebrating the spirit and diversity of Zimbabwe. This event underscored Zimbabwe’s commitment to sharing its heritage and unique tourism offerings with the world.
